Project | Course Objectives and Needs Assessment
The James Madison University Department of Psychology has outlined several key objectives they deem important for psychology majors. Each class aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities, and other (KSAO) important information to develop a well-rounded student, ready to face the world. Additionally, the Psychology of the Workplace class, taught by Dr. Tracy Zinn, set forth further objectives for the course. There was a strong emphasis on sociocultural awareness in addition to learning about workplace concepts.
The second PDF contains a set of KSAOs that I originally outlined at the beginning of the Psychology of Workplace course. I provided a list of my current strengths as well as a list of my current weaknesses. After the class was completed, I wrote a short recollection on how I developed my KSAOs throughout the semester.
Project | Team Contract
Throughout my Psychology of the Workplace course, I created a number of projects working alongside a team of three other dedicated classmates. In order to ensure cooperation and cohesion, we first outlined a contract that held us all accountable for adhering to group policies we set forth at the beginning of the semester. It proved to be efficient, so we made no further changes from its original standards.

Project | Job Analysis
A job analysis outlines the content of work in terms of activities performed and attributes needed to perform a specific job. This job analysis is a detailed description of the qualifications and duties required of a successful psychology professor at James Madison University.

Project | Job Analysis Interview Questions
In order to construct a thorough job analysis (Project 04), we interviewed four current James Madison University Psychology professors (Dr. Tracy Zinn, Dr. Jamie Kurtz, Dr. Dan Holt, and Dr. Jeff Dyche). The JMU Department of Psychology designed three important domains that a successful professor must be involved in and show mastery over: teaching, research, and service. We used these three domains to help guide our interview questions we asked during a panel-style discussion.

PSYC 410 | Psychology Student Assessment Center
Assessment centers are designed to assess job candidates by using a variety of structured, group-oriented exercises that are then evaluated by raters. Instead of job candidates, however, this assessment center project is instead designed to assess psychology major students. We used a number of measures to test a multitude of KSAOs deemed important by the JMU Department of Psychology.
Additionally, we also created a training program for the evaluators and raters participating in the assessment center. A brief training program would help ensure that raters are rating participants effectively and accurately to avoid potential problems.

Project | Change Proposal: Work Sampling
Personnel selection is considered a strategic business decision for organizations. Hiring qualified employees is crucial to the company, so it is important that organizations design an efficient hiring process. This project analyzes The Harrison maintenance crew and proposes that the maintenance staff could be improved by implementing work sampling into the personnel selection process. Work sampling is a type of test in which applicants demonstrate proficiency on a task commonly found in the job for which they are applying.

Project | Faculty Selection
Personnel selection is considered a strategic business decision for organizations. Hiring qualified employees is crucial to the company, so it is important that organizations design an efficient hiring process. In the case of this project, it is vital that the JMU Department of Psychology hire a skilled professor. My team and I designed a detailed hiring procedure based on our job analysis for selecting qualified psychology professors. It includes recruitment, written applications, interviews, and background checks by using a multiple hurdle and multiple cut-off decision making approach.

Performance appraisals are used to guide and evaluate the performance of current employees and team members within an organization. For the purpose of this project, we designed an effective rubric for evaluating psychology professors’ performance using a behaviorally anchored rating scales (BARS). Project | Can Women have it All? Debate Questions
Work-family balance is becoming a widely recognized and serious issue in today's Western culture. People are constantly stressed over finding time to dedicate to both work and family. Is it possible for people to find a balance between the two, or must people choose between one or the other? Is this an issue of gender? Is it easier for men to find a balance than it is for women? Answering a series of questions, these are my personal opinions about the matter.
